All-American nose tackle Terrence Cody has been absent from Alabama's past two practices.
As we warned yesterday, the illness affecting Terrence Cody (62) is indeed tied to the flu. Even worse, he's not alone on Alabama's team. Cornerback Kareem Jackson bumped into the 354-pound Cody on campus today and found out the troubling reason why.
"He told me he hadn't eaten in 2 days," Jackson said. "I kind of find that hard to believe."
Barely a week before the season opener against 7th-ranked Virginia Tech in Atlanta, the 5th-ranked Crimson Tide is being threatened by a strain of the flu that is rolling through the University of Alabama and much of the Southeast.
Cody is 1 of roughly 10 players in the past week who have come down with the flu or flu-like symptoms, according to Alabama coach Nick Saban.
"We're doing as much as we can to try to prevent this," Saban said. The SEC Rocks!
