
Auburn senior tight end Tommy Trott has been named to the watch list for the 2009 John Mackey Award, the Nassau County Sports Commission announced Wednesday. The Mackey Award is given annually to the best collegiate tight end in the nation.
Trott, who was one of 30 players named to the watch list, started Auburn's first 11 games last season, finishing with 20 receptions for 201 yards. He caught at least 3 passes in 5 games, including back-to-back games against West Virginia and Ole Miss in which he caught a career high 4 balls in each game!
Trott enters his senior season with 34 career receptions for 330 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He has played in 39 career games, making 22 starts.
The John Mackey Award will be selected by a vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee, and the 2009 John Mackey winner will be announced Dec. 10, 2009. The SEC Rocks!
