A day after moving from receiver to defensive back, USC junior Joe Hills moved on entirely.
As he walked on to the practice field Friday afternoon, Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier told a group of reporters that Hills was no longer on the team. He did not say whether Hills quit or had been asked to leave.
Hills entered the preseason as a 2nd-team receiver and had been getting work with the 1st-team offense. But after he dropped 2 passes during Wednesday’s scrimmage, Hills was switched to safety. Then, off the team, Ouch! The SEC Rocks!
