LSU's Rahim Alem added to Bednarik Award Watch List


LSU defensive end Rahim Alem added his name to another preseason list for a national honor as he was tabbed as one of 55 players nationwide to the 2009 Bednarik Award Watch List, the organizers of the award announced.
Alem has already been named to the Ted Hendricks Award, which goes to the top defensive end in college football.
Alem heads into the 2009 season as 1 of the Tigers’ starters at defensive end. For his career, Alem has racked up 17 tackles for losses and 10 sacks in 31 games with 1 start.
Alem, a native of New Orleans, led LSU with 8 sacks and 11.5 tackles for losses last season while recording 29 total tackles and 7 quarterback hurries. He ranked 3rd in the Southeastern Conference in sacks and 8th in the league in tackles for losses in 2008. The SEC Rocks!
