LSU Football Preps goes Indoors for Washington

Ninth-ranked LSU went indoors on Friday with a shells workout as the Tigers completed their 2nd day of practice dedicated to preparing for the season-opener next week against Washington.
LSU opens its 5th season under Les Miles on Sept. 5 in Seattle against the Huskies. Kickoff between the Tigers and the Huskies is set for 9:36 p.m. CT and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
“Thursday and Friday were devoted primarily to Washington and our game plans are underway,” Miles said. “There’s much more attention to detail and a little bit more speed in practice today. As long as camp gets, I think everybody is ready to play someone with a different color jersey on.”
Miles complimented the progress that freshman safety Craig Loston has made since joining the team on Monday. Loston, who was the top-rated prep safety last year at Eisenhower High School in Aldine, Texas, missed all of fall camp and wasn’t able to join the Tigers until the first day of school.
Craig Loston is a very good player with a very good football IQ,” Miles said. “He understands concepts well and I expect he might play some at Washington. He will be a very competent safety, but we’ll predominately use him on special teams.”
Against Washington, the Tigers will face a Husky squad with a new coach in Steve Sarkisian, who spent the past 4 seasons coaching the quarterbacks and serving as the offensive coordinator at Southern Cal. The SEC Rocks!
