Junior defensive lineman Pernell McPhee was named Southeastern Conference Defensive Lineman of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. A constant in the offensive backfield, McPhee totaled 3 tackles including a pair of sacks in Mississippi State's 15-3 win at Vanderbilt last weekend. McPhee led a defensive front that allowed only 33 yards rushing on 29 carries. Vanderbilt's longest run from scrimmage was 9 yards. McPhee becomes the 3rd Bulldog defensive lineman to win the weekly award that began in 2004. Willie Evans earned the honor after a win over Tulane in 2005, and Jessie Bowman claimed the award following the Auburn game a year ago. The SEC Rocks!
