
South Carolina's defensive tackle Travian Robertson’s knee injury will sideline him for the season, USC confirmed Friday night.Robertson sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, an MRI confirmed Friday night, according to team physician Dr. Jeff Guy. The injury happened in the third quarter against Ole Miss Thursday.
Robertson will undergo surgery in a couple of weeks, USC said.
A CT scan on USC quarterback Stephen Garcia’s bruised ribs Friday revealed no fractures.
Garcia was injured on a quarterback sneak Thursday in the first half of the Gamecocks’ 16-10 win against Mississippi. Garcia, who stayed in the game after taking Tylenol and receiving a cortisone shot at halftime, said he planned to spend the weekend in Tampa with his girlfriend and their 2-year-old son.
