Vols Close to Victory Against the Tide 12-10

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- Senior nose guard Terrence Cody blocked his second field goal of the game as time expired to preserve No. 1 Alabama's 12-10 victory over Tennessee. The Volunteers scored a touchdown to pull within two points with 1:19 left in the game and recovered the ensuing onside kick. UT moved into field goal range, but Cody busted through the line and got a hand on Daniel Lincoln's kick to keep the Crimson Tide's undefeated season alive.

Senior kicker Leigh Tiffin made all four of his field goal attempts including a 49-yarder and a season-long 50-yarder. Sophomore Mark Ingram ran for 99 yards on 18 carries, and Julio Jones caught seven passes for 54 yards to account for most the Tide's offensive productivity. Alabama has a bye next week before No. 9 LSU comes to Tuscaloosa Nov. 7.
