The Southeastern Conference will not issue a public statement on a controversial incompletion from Alabama's 24-15 win over LSU Saturday on which Tigers cornerback Patrick Peterson made what appeared to be an interception along the visiting sideline, but was ruled out of bounds. The play was reviewed and the replay official confirmed the ruling on the field. SEC Associate Commissioner Charles Bloom said the league office will communicate directly with LSU regarding the call.
Also Monday, Bloom indicated that a technical glitch prevented replay from being used on a sideline catch by Brad Smelley that was ruled incomplete.
"The replay system briefly froze up, which meant that the equipment was not sending the plays from the TV feed to the replay official," Bloom wrote in an e-mail to The Tuscaloosa News.
"It was quickly fixed by the technician in the booth."Save Big on Last Minute Airfare Sale at CheapOair. Book Now, Limited Period Offer!
