Four-star defensive tackle Calvin Smith announced that he was signing a letter of intent to attend New Mexico. And he did it live, on national television.
Smith, who hails from Hialeah, Fla., had been chased by heavyweights such as Alabama, Tennessee and North Carolina before opting for the Lobos. Apparently, his father's relationship with New Mexico head coach Mike Locksley played a big role in Smith's decision.
