Ole Miss QB may be facing surgery

According to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, Cotton may have a partially torn labrum in his throwing shoulder, an injury that dates back to his high school playing days. Head coach Houston Nutt is hoping that redshirt freshman can play through the pain, but surgery is a realistic possibility.
If forced to undergo a medical procedure to repair the damage, Cotton would be out 4-6 months.
Cotton has been limited in practice for the past week or so, allowing the sophomore Stanley to get a leg up in the fight for the job of replacing Jevan Snead.
