QB Cotton picks new home following Ole Miss departure

Cotton has found a new destination in which to continue his collegiate football career.
As has been rumored since the quarterback opted to transfer late last month, Tommy Hicks of al.com is reporting that Cotton has decided to move on to South Alabama and play for the Jaguars. Ole Miss gave Cotton his official release on Wednesday, and Cotton will likely practice with the team Friday.
"We're excited about having Raymond," USA head coach Joey Jones told the paper. "I'd heard a lot of great things about him. Obviously, I've seen high school highlight films on him and kept up with his career a little bit last year. It looks like we've got a good one transferring in here."
Cotton left the Rebels due to concerns over playing time as he would've entered summer camp behind presumptive starter Nathan Stanley, which opened the door for Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt to pursue former Oregon QB Jeremiah Masoli.
