According to a press release issued by the school, A.J. Green's appeal of a four-game suspension has been denied by the NCAA. Georgia had hoped that the remaining two games of the suspension would either be completely reduced or, at least, reduced by a game.Instead, Green won't see a regular-season football field until the first weekend of October.
"Our concentration is the same as the last two weeks which is preparing for the next game," head coach Mark Richt said in a statement. "We'll look forward to A.J.'s return for the Colorado game on Oct. 2."
Athletic director Greg McGarity added that the school "respect[s] the committee's decision and are moving forward."
