Auburn junior defensive tackle Nick Fairley has been named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Lineman of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Fairley was recognized for his performance during Auburn's 52-3 victory over ULM on Saturday. Fairley had a strong performance against the Warhawks despite playing limited snaps in the second half. He totaled four tackles during the game, including three solo stops, and all three solo tackles went for losses (-16 yards). One of those was a quarterback sack (-8 yards). Fairley was part of a defensive unit that limited ULM to just 38 rushing yards on 33 attempts during the game. The longest rush for the Warhawks on the day was only nine yards. Fairley continues to lead the SEC in both tackles for loss and sacks this season. His 11.5 tackles for loss are tied for third most in the country this year, and his five sacks are tied for sixth most. The honor marked the second time this season that Fairley has received an SEC weekly award. He was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week Sept. 13 after his performance in a victory at Mississippi State.
