Injuries take their toll on Miss. St. TEs

Marcus Green and Brandon Henderson were Mississippi State's top two tight ends, now one is done for the season and the other's availability is questionable.
Green, who began the season as the Bulldogs' starter, has a partial tear of his ACL as well as a sprained MCL and will miss the remainder of the season. Green originally suffered the injury Sept. 9 against Auburn. He will undergo surgery Thursday to repair the damage.
"He's tried the last couple of weeks," head coach Dan Mullen said according to the Starkville Daily News. "We tried to get some swelling out of his knee and see if he could play with a brace but the medical staff just didn't think it would be stable enough."
Henderson had started in place of Green since the second week of the season, but he too has been bothered by a knee injury. Henderson has missed the past two games with a left knee sprain.
Mullen said that Henderson "was fully cleared by our medical staff" to play in last Saturday's game against Georgia, "but we didn't feel comfortable playing him at less than 100 percent." Mullen added that "hopefully he'll play this weekend" against Houston.
