Despite Georgia’s 1-4 record, Vegas oddsmakers have the Bulldogs as a heavy favorite over Tennessee on Saturday in Sanford Stadium. One line had the Dogs as a 13-point favorite earlier this week. "We’re a 13-point favorite?" coach Mark Richt replied, incredulously, when a reporter brought that up. "Wow! Hope they’re right. I don’t look at those things, I really don’t, but wow." Tuesday afternoon, Georgia had dropped to a 12-point favorite. Tennessee was a 16-point underdog to LSU last week but lost by just two points on the final play of the game. The Vols, like the Bulldogs, are seeking their first SEC victory of the season. Tennessee is 2-3 overall, 0-2 in the conference. This is the first Georgia-Tennessee game since 1906 that both teams enter with a losing record.
