Georgia State Panthers (6-4 SU) at No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide (8-2 SU, 6-4 ATS) Alabama Crimson Tide’s National Championship defense is just a few games from ending. This is a team that came into 2010 with high expectations, but will finish with no less than two losses. One team that had no expectations were the Georgia State Panthers, who are playing the first year of football in the school’s history. No one knew exactly what to expect from them, but coach Bill Curry has done as good a job as anyone nationally, as he’s gotten the Panthers to 6-4 on the season. While not much is known about Georgia State, credit needs to be given to quarterback Drew Little. The freshman has stepped in and been spectacular this year, as he’s thrown for 18 touchdowns on the year, including four in his last two games. Wide receiver Danny Williams has had several big games, including an 11 catch performance a few weeks back.
What Curry has done to get this team competitive in Year One is phenomenal. Georgia State is coming off a big win against Lamar last week, and has somehow won five of their last seven. But none of those wins has come to a team with even 1/100th the talent of the Crimson Tide. This may not be a great Alabama team, but they’re still one of the Top 15 teams in the country. Expect them to cruise to a comfortable win.
