Arkansas's tight end D.J. Williams wins the John Mackey Award

Arkansas tight end D.J. Williams has won the John Mackey Award, presented to the nation’s top tight end. Williams has caught 49 passes for 589 yards and four touchdowns this season. The senior is the NCAA’s active career leader for receptions (147) and yards (1,817) by a tight end. "There was a lot of hard work I put into this," Williams said. "I’ve had great coaches along the way." Williams is the first Arkansas player to win the award, which is in its 11th year. He joins Outland Trophy winners Bud Brooks and Loyd Phillips, two-time Doak Walker Award winner Darren McFadden and Rimington Trophy winner Jonathan Luigs as Razorbacks to win postseason individual awards.Williams was also presented the Disney Spirit Award Thursday for his work to raise awareness for domestic violence.
