According to multiple reports, quarterback Zach Mettenberger committed to the Tigers the weekend of Nov. 20, but has not gone public with the decision until now. He will reportedly enroll at the school for the spring semester. Mettenberger spent the 2010 season at Butler Community College in Kansas after being dismissed from the Georgia football program this past spring. The redshirt freshman had been arrested over spring break and ultimately pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery. In addition to LSU, Alabama, Texas A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Arizona, Cincinnati, Troy and Louisville also reportedly offered scholarships to the quarterback. Mettenberger will have three years of eligibility remaining and can play right away, can help improve the QB position for the Tigers. As a team, the Tigers with only 7 touchdown passes and out of 120 Div. 1-A schools, only Army with 5 had fewer.
