"We don’t want that. We don’t want to see anybody get hurt. But when you can’t block a guy that’s 315 pounds, that happens." There’s no doubt that Fairley plays through the whistle. That much we do know. Where the concern lies is how much does the line blur between playing hard and playing dirty. When asked if he intended to hurt opposing quarterbacks, Fairley simply replied, "Of course not."

Chizik on Fairley... sure his DT isn’t ‘dirty’
