Gators officially announce Kansas City's, Weis hiring

Florida officially announced today that Charlie Weis has been hired as Will Muschamp‘s new offensive coordinator. Muschamp, as expected, was effusive in his praise for Weis, who will be taking his second dip into the collegiate coaching ranks after spending the majority of his time in the NFL. "Charlie was a perfect fit for what I was looking for in an offensive coordinator," Muschamp said. "He has both college and pro experience and has been a play-caller in the NFL. He has four Super Bowl rings and his accomplishments and his ability to develop quarterbacks speak for themselves." Weis currently holds the same job with the Chiefs, and will remain with the club through their run in the NFL playoffs.
"We hope the Chiefs make a run to the Super Bowl, it would be great for the Chiefs and great for the Gators," Muschamp said. "Everyone involved with the Kansas City organization has been first class about the transition."
