Meyer pulled a Favre last year when he suddenly announced his retirement following the end of the Gators’ 2009 season and then came back to coach again this season. The Gators have been struggling in a rebuilding phase, and citing health reasons, Meyer has definitely stated he will not be back again so he can focus on family and his own health.
It has indeed been a hard season for Florida, which ended the year 7-5 SU after a lopsided 7-31 loss to the rival FSU Seminoles.
