While Croom confirmed to the Tuscaloosa News that he had indeed spoken to Saban over the weekend, he also confirmed that he would not be coming home to Tuscaloosa and would instead remain with the St. Louis Rams as running backs coach. "It was a very intriguing opportunity that Coach Saban and I discussed," Croom said. "My visit was more of a get-to-know-you with Coach Saban and the staff. It was a great visit. I really enjoyed it. … "Just looking at the possibility when I was down there, he was not positive which way to go with the position that was open."
