Head coach Bobby Petrino confirmed the team’s worst fears Thursday, announcing that Bequette will not play against the Tide. Bequette also missed last weekend’s win over Troy. “It’s really hard for him,” Petrino said. “He hasn’t missed games. A guy that works out year round, is in great physical shape. But the hamstring needs to heal before he can get back out there. He’s working hard at it.”
Sophomore Chris Smith will once again replace Bequette in the starting lineup.
After starting 13 games and recording seven sacks in 2010, Bequette was named tothe preseason All-SEC first team prior to the start of this season.
