Mississippi State hasn’t even snapped the ball and the players are dropping it, already Dan Mullen‘s team is off to a bad start. The school has announced that five players have been suspended for the Bulldogs’ opener tonight against Memphis for violating team rules. They are: starting DT Fletcher Cox, freshman LT Blaine Clausell (listed as a co-starter at left tackle), Dylan Favre (yes, he’s related to Brett Favre; reserve linebacker Chris Hughes and reserve receiver Malcolm Johnson.
All five are expected to return for the Sept. 10 game against Auburn.
MSU is coming off a 9-4 season a year ago with a victory of Michigan in the Gator Bowl.
