Gators QB Brissett to get second consecutive start against Auburn

With injuries to Florida starting quarterback John Brantley and freshman Jeff Driskel, Jacoby Brissett will get his second straight start this Saturday as the Gators visit Auburn, the Gainesville Sun reports.

Brissett, also a freshman, got the nod against LSU last week when it was announced Driskel would be a no-go because of an ankle injury. Both took first-team snaps this week with Brantley sidelined, Driskel is expected to dress for the game.

Coach Will Muschamp had been hesitant to name a starter for Week 7′s game earlier this week.

In the game against LSU, Brissett went 8-of-14 for 94 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Trey Burton, Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps also took direct snaps in Wildcat packages; a similar plan could be used for this weekend.
