Gamecocks Alshon Jeffery breaks school receiving record

No. 15 South Carolina stayed in the SEC East title hunt with their win over Florida 17-12, but the Gamecocks also reached a personal team milestone as well.

On a 3-yard catch from quarterback Connor Shaw, receiver Alshon Jeffery became the school’s all-time leader in receiving yards, passing Kenny McKinley’s record of 2,781. Jeffery had just two catches for 17 yards on the day. Overall this season, has been a disappointment for Jeffery numbers-wise; he has 38 receptions for 504 yards and five touchdowns. Compared to last season when he had over 1,500 yards receiving.
