Ole Miss Houston Nutt mentions Mike Leach as possible replacement

Rarely, though, does the mentioning of a coach for an open job come from the man who previously held the position. But, speaking on the “Tim Brando Show” earlier today, the now-fired Houston Nutt mentioned that former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach could be a replacement at Ole Miss if the school’s administration wants to go in a different direction. Nutt added that the next coach at Ole Miss will have to do something “a little different” on offense, pointing to Leach’s time at Texas Tech.

Leach has been connected, realistically or otherwise, to just about every job opening this season, and that will undoubtedly continue to be the case at the end of the season when more spots open up. If contacted by Ole Miss, Leach said he would be interested in pursuing the idea.

“I haven’t heard from anybody, but I’m not too hard to find,” Leach said. “It’s a great job. I’m sure the Ole Miss administration has a certain individual it is looking for, and I’m sure they’ll find the right guy.”
