Florida sophomore receiver Paul Wilson’s career is over, coach Urban Meyer said Friday. Wilson has a broken right foot for the second time is less than a year. Meyer said doctors have advised Wilson to give up football.
Wilson played in Florida’s 1st two games last season, then had season-ending foot surgery in September. He re-injured his foot Aug. 7.
Meyer says Wilson would have contributed on special teams this season.
The Gators planned to file for a medical hardship for Wilson, meaning he would still be on scholarship but not count against the NCAA limit of 85.
