Vanderbilt starting defensive end Steven Stone will be out at least 6 weeks with a broken right foot, Coach Bobby Johnson said Tuesday.
Stone took a bad step on a routine play in practice Monday and was wearing a protective boot while on crutches Tuesday.
It was the 1st significant career injury for Stone, a 6-5 senior who started every game the last 2 seasons. He had 42 tackles and was tied for the team lead with 5 sacks in 2008.
The Commordores are not planning on having Stone for the 1st 4 games. He could to return the week of the Ole Miss game on Oct. 3. The SEC Rocks!
