UGA starter KO'd by ACL for second straight season

In the aftermath of Georgia's underwhelming performance in a season-opening loss to Oklahoma State, head coach Mark Richt said that an 'MRI would basically tell the story' on the condition of starting left tackle Trinton Sturdivant's injured knee.
The MRI has been performed, and it's not a tale that the Bulldogs wanted or needed to hear.
According to a press release issued by the school, Sturdivant suffered a torn ACL in his left knee, and will be lost for the remainder of the 2009 season. It's the 2nd straight year he's lost a season to the same injury. “I saw Trinton today, and he was a little surprised by it,'” said Richt. '“He didn'’t figure that after the game, and it was a surprise to him and to us. He did tear the ACL in the same leg, and he will be out. He was more philosophical this time. He said he'’s got two choices, either give up or fight again. We know, and he knows he will be back.”" The SEC Rocks!
