Head coach Urban Meyer announced Monday that cornerback Moses Jenkins suffered a hyperextended left elbow in the win over Miami of Ohio Saturday. Meyer estimated that the defensive back will miss at least six games due to the injury and subsequent rehab.
Additionally, offensive lineman Matt Patchan will also miss the game with South Florida due to a fractured right wrist.
The good news on the personnel front, safety Will Hill and guard Carl Johnson will be back after serving a one-game suspension for violating unspecified team rules. Wide receiver Frankie Hammond Jr. has been reinstated following his one-game suspension that was a a result of a DUI arrest over the summer.
Meyer also expressed optimism that offensive tackle Xavier Nixon would be available after sitting out the opener with a knee injury.
