Speaking to the media yesterday after his first win as the Volunteers head coach, a 50-0 victory at Tennessee-Martin, expense, Derek Dooley said that wide receiver Gerald Jones would miss the Oregon game due to a hand injury. All told, Dooley expects Jones to miss at least 2-3 games because of a broken bone in the hand.
Jones suffered the injury in the third quarter and didn't return.
The loss of Jones will be a significant one for Dooley's offense; the senior receiver led the Vols in both receptions (6) and receiving yards (86) in the win.
