Arkansas's Mallett ties school record with 6 TDs

Junior Ryan Mallett tied a pair of University of Arkansas records in limited playing time as the 14th-ranked Razorbacks dismantled the Texas-El Paso Miners, 58-21, at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Mallett played only three quarters, but threw for five touchdowns and ran for another in the rout. Tying his own record for touchdown passes in a game, Mallett's six total TD equalled the mark of Madre Hill at Arkansas. Hill’s effort was versus South Carolina in 1995 and is the 35th different school or stadium record broken or tied by Mallett in his Arkansas career. For the evening, Mallett pased 19-26-0 for 215 yards, a very efficient evening for the five touchdown passes, the fourth time in his career to hit the mark. His five scores represented 35 unanswered points against UTEP. For the passing, Arkansas was powerful on the ground. The Razorbacks rushed for 326 yards, the most under head coach Bobby Petrino and most since totaling 385 on the ground Nov. 23, 2007 at LSU. The Razorbacks topped their previous season-high in rushing during the first drive of the third quarter. Knile Davis had 109 rushing yards after his first two carries, including a 71-yard touchdown run with 9:14 left in the first quarter. He finished the game with a career-high 182 rushing yards
