Robby Green likely leaving ‘Bama

Chase Goodbread of TideSports.com reports that Green is not expected to return to the Tide this fall. The defensive back missed all of last year due to academic issues, and a violation of unspecified team rules caused him to miss the 2011 spring sessions. He also missed a majority of spring practice in 2010, seemingly due to the same academic issues that sidelined him for the entire year. Before running into those off-field hurdles, Green was expected to challenge for a starting job at safety both this year and last after playing in 26 games,six starts his true freshman and sophomore seasons.

Green was a four-star member of the Tide’s 2008 recruiting class. He was the No. 17 cornerback in the country according to Rivals.com.
