Mississippi State's 2009 football team welcomed its newest member on Friday, wide receiver Ricco Sanders. Sanders was cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center on Friday morning and joined the team later that day.
A native of Duncan, S.C., Sanders was rated the No. 51 wide receiver prospect in the country by recruiting web site Rivals.com. Called the No. 2 wide receiver in the state of South Carolina by Scout.com, Sanders helped lead Byrnes High School to the Calss 4A state title last season. He caught 42 passes for 765 yards and six scores during his senior campaign.
"We're excited to have Ricco join our family," head coach Dan Mullen said. "He's done everything we've asked and more to get here and get ready to help this team." The SEC Rocks!
